Our distinguished award recipients are listed below:

Service and Leadership Award
Donna Boyle
In recognition of her outstanding efforts in leading Chapter One through transitional and challenging times. Programs and participation grew in quality and number, elevating the chapter to a more inclusive level not seen in many years. We are all indebted to you and truly appreciate your tenure as our Chapter President from 2002-2005.

Robert Hastedt
In recognition of his outstanding dedication to the education, lifelong learning and development of YMCA professionals’ understanding of their Retirement Fund. Through workshops, Perspective articles, personal advice and web conferences, Bob is always hard at work helping all of us find our own personal direction. Bob is one of those special few who help us find the answers for ourselves.

Alice “Bonnie” Mairs
In recognition of her outstanding leadership of the International Branch YMCA, building global citizenship and engendering international understanding. A tireless advocate for exchange participants, Bonnie’s work has strengthened YMCAs worldwide and the lives of thousands of young people from every corner of the world.

Alvin Moonesar
In recognition of his dedication in developing the Membership of AYP Chapter One through constant correspondence and personal interaction. Alvin can always be counted on for being a driving force in the value of AYP Membership, promoting the many benefits and opportunities for growth and advancement.

Robert Ross McBurney Award
David Christmas
In recognition of his efforts in improving the North Brooklyn YMCA since his arrival in 2004. He has taken the challenges in stride and is diligently working with his team in making the North Brooklyn YMCA a facility of excellence. David also continues to develop his staff ensuring their growth as their roles expand to his positive vision.

Lisa Rodriguez
In recognition of her outstanding efforts in bringing a new vitality Teen Programs across the YMCA of Greater New York. Lisa was instrumental in the development of the Global Teen experience in South Dakota on the Lakota Nation Reservation. She has reinvigorated the Youth and Government Program now known as Teens Take the City and has made teens more involved with Leader’s Rallies and International participation.

Humanitarian Service Award
Bryan Eck

In recognition of his outstanding care, dedication and compassion for the people he works with everyday. Bryan has honed his skills in bringing out the best in people while encouraging them to reach for higher and more challenging goals. We applaud Bryan ’s many roles at the YMCA of Greater New York and wish him success as he embarks on a new adventure in his life and career.
