the National Board determines
policies, establishes goals,
appropriates and allocates funds, and conducts
its work in
accordance with AYP's Constitution and
Bylaws.
Its membership consists of:
- national officers (chair,
vice chair, secretary, treasurer, chief executive officer)
- members-at-large
- two elected officers from
each of the seven regions
- CEOs or their designees
from the YMCA of the USA,
the YMCA Retirement Fund, Springfield College
and the North American Fellowship of YMCA Retirees
Elected
and appointed members of the National Board serve for three-year
terms, referred to as trienniums. At the national level, all of AYP
programs and services
are managed through the Board's standing committees:
Chapter Services, Communications, Finance, Leadership Development,
Member Services
and Support Services.

Regions
To better promote,
conduct and coordinate its activities and member services, AYP
has identified seven geographic service areas - referred to as
regions. Chapters
Chapters
are the primary operating units and real strength of AYP. They
are geographically grouped into the seven regions and organized
to provide the most meaningful grass-roots experience possible
for members. Through a series of activities and meetings, they
afford the best opportunity for networking and fellowship with
other members in a non-work setting. There are 36 chapters throughout
the country. To learn more about a particular chapter go to the Chapters page. |
