AYP's resources for Y professionals provide free information that will help guide various aspects of your career and Y operations. You must be a current active member of AYP. Each has been developed by AYP specifically for Y professionals. The resources may be mailed to you; we also have these resources as electronic files. Career Resource Manual - This straightforward “Making the Right Moves” manual breaks the YMCA job-hunting process into five, easy to follow, sections: Assessment (when is it time to make a career change), Discovery (finding the “right” job for you), Candidacy (will your resume get you an interview), Interviewing (selling yourself when it really counts), and Negotiating (get the best financial and relocation package). A valuable resource for staff at all stages of their Y career.

New YMCA CEO Handbook - "The First 90 Days"- This resource will help executive directors get to know their new YMCAs and communities quickly, develop good public relations and volunteer relationships right away, and begin to manage personnel effectively. A number of forms, checklists and other resources used by successful Ys are also included.

Model Ethics Policy for YMCA Employees - Compliance with laws and regulations, conflicts of interest, offering or accepting gifts, political activity and personnel issues are among the topics covered in this resource.

Geographic Relocation Manual for YMCA Professionals - A myriad of facts, advice and work sheets are included in this manual, which helps Y professionals assess the impact of a move on their lives. In addition to relocation information, the manual includes the "Model Relocation Policy and Benefits Guide for YMCAs."

Model Personnel Policy and Employee Benefits Guide for YMCAs - Benefits administration, policy coverage, employment policies, job conditions, wage and salary administration, benefits, career development, leaves of absence and terminations are included in this guide.

Harold C. Smith Symposium Proceedings - Held in September, 2000, this invitational symposium included YMCA leaders from across the U.S., as well as leaders from affiliated organizations.
